The owners of this beautiful Port Bouvard holiday home had one problem: no outdoor cover to enjoy their beautiful cannel views. They contacted Soltex, looking for a retractable all-weather solution, allowing them to entertain all year round, night and day. Soltex engaged a local builder and design engineer to construct the timber frame onsite, keeping true to the aesthetics of the buildings and local council covenants. We installed two Soltex Retractable Novo Roof Systems so we could achieve the minimum pitch of four degrees due to the low clearance from the balcony above. With 1700mm wide rafter spacings, we were able to create the look of an almost flat roof. The most spectacular feature of this project was the use of LED lighting and infrared heating which created that extra touch that complements canal gazing and entertaining at night. Soltex also installed alfresco Flyloc Blinds to reduce exposure to rain or sun in the alfresco dining area. These outdoor blinds were individually programmed, allowing the perfect hassle-free access to the boat dock. The end result was a truly all-weather, all year-round entertainer’s paradise and one the team at Soltex is extremely proud of.
