Our client contacted Soltex looking for a more permanent solution to replace existing café blinds to their balcony at their Yanchep residence. The old outdoor blinds no longer worked and were discoloured and damaged from the coastal conditions. Most important to the customer was a product that required minimal maintenance, provided protection from all-weather but also did not block the spectacular views. Soltex’s solution was to supply and install Multi-Fold Weatherwell External Shutters, allowing for the area to be opened up and the views to be enjoyed. Due to the weight of the external shutters, the balustrade needed to be reinforced by an aluminium plate and a suspended steel angle fixed to the exterior of the patio. The Soltex team also installed fixed external shutters to the other side of the balcony along with blade locks, to lock in the blades in place even in high winds, and dead bolts to lock and secure the area for privacy and security. The home owner was overjoyed to now use their balcony all year round and have peace of mind as their external shutters come with a 10-year powder-coat warranty and 5-year structural warranty.
