The Shaderunner® is a very versatile product and can be installed in a variety of situations please see below some of the most common installation types.
Frame Installation
Installed into an existing framework or purpose-built framework. The Shaderunner® retractable sail is the perfect solution to add sun protection to an open pergola which may go unused due to the exposure to the harsh heat and UV. The pairing of soft wood and the Shaderunner® fabric is a favourite with architects and homeowners alike.
Wall to Wall Installation
Installed between two existing walls the Shaderunner® can be fixed with discrete stainless-steel plates or custom fabricated angles depending on the wall material. The Shaderunner® retractable sail then stacks neatly against the wall when not required. This can be a great option to add sun protection to a courtyard or deck.
Post to Post Installation
Installed between 4 posts the Shaderunner® retractable sail can be extended and retracted to provide large sun protection to pools, lawns and gardens with minimal structure. A crosswire can be used between the poles to pick up the operation cord or a beam can also be added between the posts. The posts need to be aligned with the stainless-steel guide wires which are set 20% in on the width of the Shaderunner® retractable sail.
Rafter Brackets to Posts Installation
Installed between the eave of the house and 2 posts the Shaderunner® retractable sail can be suspended from custom made brackets which are fixed to your rafters and come out through the fascia. This is a common installation method when providing shading to a deck or outdoor entertainment space next to the house.The Soltex Difference

The fabric is sewn around lightweight aluminium cross tubes for high strength
support and easy operation.
The Shaderunner® retractable sail is capable of spanning up to 6.5mwide and
projecting out up to 14m in a single sail. By far the largest retractable sail on the
market, saving you money and the convenience of having one shade sail instead
of multiple.
The Shaderunner® retractable sail is rated up to 25km winds but can be engineered
for higher wind ratings as required.
The Shaderunner® retractable sail is available in a variety of different fabric options
both open weave for great light transparency but still providing protection from

Each Shaderunner® retractable sail is made to order, we come to site to measure
your Shaderunner® to the mm. You can adjust many components of the

Somfy Motorisation
While the majority of our clients enjoy the simplicity and ease of the Shaderunner® manual operation in some circumstances motorisation of the system can be beneficial. We use only the best Somfy motors to electronically retract and extend your retractable shade sail via remote control. As a Somfy expert we can pair your Somfy RTS motor with a range of wind and sun sensors. Custom Hood or Flashing
Help protect your Shaderunner® retractable shade sail when it is closed over the winter months by having a custom-made flashing or hood installed. This can be fabricated in any of the Dulux or Interpon colours to seamlessly match in with your façade.Weighted Tubes
If you are in a high wind area or for larger spans, we can customise your Shaderunner® Retractable shade sail to have weighted tubes sewn into the panel to prevent the fabric flapping up and rubbing against the wires.
